Loading user batteries can be a challenge. Loading takes a long time, and batteries are often not full. This is a known problem with ships, service vans, recreational vehicles and trucks. Smart dynamos and start/stop systems make this problem bigger.

Robust DC-DC charger guarantees optimum condition of your user battery
Traditionally, a user battery is connected to the start battery by means of a loading relay. The starting battery is placed near the dynamo and receives the largest share of the charging current, usually the user battery is placed further away. Long cables then cause tension, which leads to longer loading times. This, in turn, ensures failing equipment and a shorter lifespan of the battery.

Modern, energy -efficient engines are equipped with smart dynamos, built according to the Euro 5 or Euro 6 emission standard. In place to deliver constant voltage, smart dynamos use a variable voltage; After a short loading period, the voltage is lowered and the loading process stops. In addition, the recovery of braking energy leads to tension peaks. Traditionally linked user batteries hardly receive any load and are damaged by the voltage peaks.

As a solution for this problem, Mastervolt introduces the Mac Plus DC-DC chargers in a 12 V and 24 V version. The Mac Plus monitors the user battery and compensates for the voltage loss. The proven 3-speed loading method ensures a fast and safe loading process. In addition, the Mac Plus protects your user battery and sensitive equipment by stabilizing the loading voltage.
