De inbouwdoos heeft een compact en functioneel ontwerp met een breedte van 87 millimeter en een hoogte van 87 millimeter. De diepte van de box bedraagt 32 millimeter, wat voldoende ruimte biedt voor de noodzakelijke bekabeling zonder dat er een extreem diepe uitsparing in de muur nodig is.
Het model is uitgevoerd in de kleur Wit en is vervaardigd van stevig ABS kunststof. De Tyco SUS516W is compatibel met de meeste standaard handbrandmelders uit de Tyco serie en weegt slechts ongeveer 60 gram, wat de hanteerbaarheid tijdens de montage vergroot. Deze back box is uitsluitend bedoeld voor binnengebruik en biedt een solide montagepunt voor zowel opbouw als verzonken montage in combinatie met de juiste frames.
